Veneers

A veneer is a thin shell of porcelain that is bonded to a tooth to improve shape, size, or color. They can be used to close spaces, add length to worn or misshaped teeth, and cover up dark or stained teeth. This procedure takes a couple of visits. The first visit is to prepare the tooth or teeth. The tooth is lightly prepared on the front and over the edges, and then an impression is taken and is sent to our dental technician where the veneer is fabricated. The patient leaves that day with a temporary veneer that is very similar to the final product. The temporaries are used to cover the prepared teeth while the final product is made. The lab pays special attention to color, length, and size. Sometimes there is a try in appointment to make sure that the shade, shape, and size are perfect. When the veneer(s) are acceptable to the doctor’s standards, and the patient is happy with the final product we will use a bonding technique to permanently put them in place. The final result is a more youthful, brighter, natural smile.
