Dentures

A denture is a removable replacement for missing teeth. Two types of dentures are available – complete and partial dentures. Complete dentures are used when all the teeth are missing, while partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain. To begin the process, a couple of impressions are taken and the shape, size, and color of teeth are chosen. All of this information is sent to our dental technician, where the denture is custom made. Depending on what type of denture is being made, there may be several "Try in" appointments prior the final delivery.

Root Canals

The tissue inside of a tooth, that carries the nerve and blood supply, is a very delicate piece of tissue. When the tissue is affected by decay, a crack, or trauma this tissue dies. When the tissue dies it becomes a source of infection and can cause an abscess, making the tooth very uncomfortable. With root canal therapy the tooth can be saved. During this procedure, the remaining nerve and blood supply are removed from the canal(s), the tooth is sterilized on the inside and a filling material is placed sealing off the root tip. It is recommended that root canal teeth be crowned as soon as possible to prevent them from breaking.

Composite or Tooth Colored Fillings:

Our office no longer uses amalgam or “silver” fillings. We use the latest technology in composite-resin or tooth colored filling. First we match the color of the tooth to our shade guide. Once the tooth is prepared for the filling, we use a bonding material and the composite –resin is molded into place. We use a special light that cures the material. Once the filling is in place, we make sure that your bite is correct and the filling is ready to chew on. Composite fillings look so similar to natural tooth structure, it can be difficult to tell what is natural and what is restoration.
